Doug has provided accounting and tax compliance services at Hellam Varon since 2009 but has been in the accounting game since 1991. At Hellam Varon, Doug primarily provides comprehensive tax planning and compliance services to closely held businesses and high net worth individuals. He serves clients in a variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, professional services, and not-for-profit organizations. Doug also enjoys the challenge of helping clients through the tax implications of selling a business or succession planning. 

After nearly 30 years of experience in both the private and public sector, Doug is one of those rare accountants who can blend his background for a well-rounded perspective with clients. He works with his clients to mitigate risks, improve compliance, and elevate business performance. With his no nonsense, “git-r-done” approach to work, Doug gives his clients timely, quality service and advice. 

While some would say he’s a workaholic, Doug lives life to the fullest during the slower seasons. When he’s away from the office he likes to travel, especially for Seahawks road games, fishing, concerts, and to see his favorite comedians. He is an avid fan of the 1980’s heavy metal genre and has seen Metallica live in concert over a dozen times!
