Tyler Dryden

Tyler joined Hellam Varon in 2012 and brought with him drive, enthusiasm, and a sense of humor. After spending four years working in the accounting and customer service department of a local water district, Tyler was looking for an opportunity to branch out into full blown tax and consulting work. As a senior tax accountant at the firm, he provides high-level tax compliance and planning primarily to closely held businesses and their owners. He also consults on buy/sell transactions and succession planning. His clients come from a variety of industries, including construction, investments, and real estate.

Tyler’s favorite part about working at Hellam Varon is the opportunity to help people, both clients and mentoring staff. The firm fosters a “local/community” feel that he values. He appreciates the camaraderie and collaboration that occurs throughout the firm. “It’s what makes Hellam Varon so different,” he comments.

Although Tyler is focused primarily on further developing his tax skills at the firm, he has a variety of interests outside work. He can be found out in the PNW hiking and backpacking as well as paddleboarding and flyfishing. He enjoys the adventure of travelling to new places, and especially loves foreign travel. Greece and Guatemala top his favorite places for world travel, so far. He also enjoys a good board game, an eclectic movie or two, and cheering on his favorite baseball team (Go Mariners!).

When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.”
