When Simran joined the Hellam Varon team in 2023, she brought with her four years of experience in public accounting. Originally from northern India, Simran left her home country at the age of 18 and moved to the United States to study for her bachelor’s degree in accounting. With a concentration in tax, she provides tax planning and compliance services for individuals, trusts and estates, and S corporations and partnerships.

As a teenager in India, Simran was required to pick a career path early. Since she showed an aptitude for numbers, she decided to focus her efforts in economics and accounting. She also has a particular interest in international tax. Her work history included the opportunity to work abroad in the Caribbean where she valued learning about the local businesses and people. As a result, Simran likes to focus on working with closely held companies and their owners.

Outside of work Simran has a variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoys creating abstract paintings with acrylics and is branching into oil painting. She likes to read nonfiction, especially psychology. Staying active at the gym, keeps her in shape for exploring the Pacific Northwest on hikes every Saturday. Like many of our staff, Simran relishes travel and exploring the world, having been to the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Australia.  We are so glad Simran’s travels led her to Hellam Varon!
