When Rebecca joined Hellam Varon in 2015, she brought 14 years of public accounting experience with her after 15 years in a teaching career. Rebecca provides tax compliance and planning services for closely held businesses and their owners. Her clients consist largely of construction companies, real-estate development entities and high net worth individuals and families. As one of the firm’s senior specialists in federal, multi-state, and international tax planning and compliance issues, Rebecca values building trusting relationships with clients, helping them see their big picture tax goals.  

Rebecca draws on her teaching skills both in assisting clients navigate the ever-changing tax laws and when mentoring newer staff. She likes to lead by example and has been instrumental in helping to further structure the firm’s tax processes for efficiency and effectiveness. She often takes the lead in and has a talent for training new staff with the goal of contributing to the firm’s strong and experienced reputation.  

Outside of work, Rebecca uses the words “epic” and “adventure” for planning her next trip, hike, bike, run, or sail. In addition to completing over 40 marathons and several Ironman triathlons around the U.S. and the world, she also crewed on a 2,800 nautical mile trans-Pacific sail. She has biked the Tour de France mountain course and hiked and biked on two separate trips through Scotland. Rebecca’s commitment to her own fitness and the financial fitness of her clients will have a lasting impact on us all!
