Lisa has been providing Hellam Varon with her particular set of skills since she first answered a newspaper ad for a staff accountant job in 1986.  She never dreamed that her need to fulfill the auditing hours requirement for CPA certification would lead to the job of a lifetime. Today as co-managing shareholder and leader of the audit and accounting department, Lisa provides financial statements and advice to closely held businesses. Her work naturally also leads into business planning, including advising on tax strategies. She works with clients through a variety of challenges, including business succession, financing expansion and operations, and minimizing tax liability. 

As co-managing shareholder, Lisa connects with and relates to her clients as a fellow business owner. She understands the challenges and concerns her clients face in running successful businesses and is able to guide them by drawing from her own experiences. Lisa sees her leadership role as one of continuing the legacy of the firm and reinforcing a great culture with an eye on the future to keep the firm strong and independent.  She loves being able to maintain a flexible work environment by putting the firm’s people first. 

Outside of the office, Lisa loves travel, travel…and did we mention travel? Lisa has a passion for exploring the world and takes a lengthy vacation each year. Some of the highlights include the Galapagos, Marquesas Islands, and a transatlantic cruise starting in Barcelona. She hit some more bucket list items recently with a European adventure by starting with sampling beer in Prague, then sipping wines on a river cruise through Germany and ending with champagne tasting in Reims, France.
