Brian Mastenbaum

Brian joined the Hellam Varon team in 2023 bringing two years of internal accounting experience at a regional bank. His background included invoicing, analyzing the bank’s financial statements, monthly billings, and general ledger audits. Brian decided to make the switch to public accounting so he could apply his CPA certification in a broader practice. His experience fits well with our audit and accounting and business support services teams. He also provides tax compliance services for individuals.

Brian was drawn to accounting because he felt he was good with numbers, and he relishes a good puzzle. Transitioning to public accounting, he looks forward to growing and addressing the challenges of disentangling the complex puzzle of taxes. He is drawn to the new experiences this change offers and the opportunity to work with clients.

Both in and out of work, Brian likes to keep busy. He enjoys staying fit and spending time outdoors. Like many of our folks, Brian is also enthusiastic about a good Seahawks, Mariners, or Kraken game. He’s got that team spirit!

This firm is honest and true to its word, and that means a lot to me.”
