Angela Engebretsen

When Angela Engebretsen joined Hellam Varon in December of 2023, she was searching for a firm that felt the way accounting firms used to, before they started getting big. Friends who had made the move to Hellam Varon encouraged her to consider us for her next professional step.

She was originally drawn to accounting and bookkeeping in high school where understanding debits and credits made sense right from the beginning! After college she worked in bookkeeping in the not-for-profit arena for a couple of years before deciding to sit for the CPA exam.

Angela began her career as a CPA working for a Seattle firm for 20 years learning all aspects of the accounting profession before settling on an emphasis in tax. After a firm merger, she began looking for the smaller firm feel she values so much, leading her to Hellam Varon’s doorstep. And we couldn’t be happier!

Angela appreciates the fact that at Hellam Varon client service matters. It is important for her to know her clients’ needs and understand their businesses well and to foster strong relationships with them based on a history of trusted advice and responsiveness. We couldn’t agree more!

When she is not looking after her clients, Angela takes advantage of Greenlake, Discovery Park, and the Burke-Gilman Trail in Seattle.

In short, “Where Numbers Count and Relationships Matter”…that is you, Angela!

For me, taxes are like a puzzle. I enjoy the process of digging into the details, researching the rules, and finding the best solutions for my clients.”
