Sarah Spearman has been providing tax planning and compliance services to individuals and closely-held businesses since joining Hellam Varon in 2008. She assists her clients in all phases of business and wealth planning, including income tax planning, estate and gift tax planning, resolution of IRS tax disputes, and consulting on a broad range of business issues.
As a member of the firm's fiduciary group, she is also experienced in the taxation of trusts and estates. When a loved one passes away, families can be faced with many issues at an emotionally difficult time. Sarah works with executors, attorneys and other advisors to help alleviate the burdens faced by families in order to facilitate the smooth administration of the estate. "Every estate planning situation is different. We help translate the complexities into understandable terms with an emphasis on the needs of the client."
Outside the office, Sarah can be found studying for her masters in taxation. She enjoys applying the intricacies of new tax regulations almost as much as helping her clients understand them. And if she ever needs help decoding the maze, Sarah knows she can always rely on her colleagues at Hellam Varon. "Although we are made up of various departments, no department works alone. We strive to meet the goals of our clients by working together."
