When Lisa Kalthoff joined Hellam Varon in 2004, she brought a background in corporate compliance support along with a high energy personality and strong work ethic. As tax administrator for Hellam Varon, Lisa rounds out the firm's indispensable administrative team. Throughout the year, she juggles a variety of duties but is primarily responsible for tax return processing. Her attention to detail and "let's get it done" approach helps keep the tax department running like clockwork. For Lisa, one of the reasons Hellam Varon is such a great place to work is the feeling of family. "This environment is awesome!" she comments. "Even though everyone is super busy, we still find time to laugh and have fun."
Although Lisa loves to work, she takes her down time seriously! Over the years, Lisa and her family have vacationed in many exotic locations. But the place that has stolen a piece of her heart is Kenya, and specifically the Maasai Mara savannah wilderness. Lisa loves everything about it, from the people to the incredible collection of wildlife. She is already planning her third photographic safari.
While Kenya has stolen her heart, Hawaii is most definitely Lisa’s happy place. From living on Maui to vacationing on Kauai and the Big Island, Lisa is nearly a native Hawaiian!
And, of course, if you work with Lisa, you know her very “not guilty” pleasure is everything Disney! At least once or twice a year, she and the family make the trek to either Disneyland or Disney World, not to mention seeing every Disney movie made, and admitting to being a serious collector of Disney-ana!
Closer to home, Lisa is an avid hockey fan. She and her husband are looking forward to supporting the new NHL team in Seattle beginning in 2021.
But when you ask Lisa what is most important in her life, without hesitation she says family, especially her daughter and grandson. It's no wonder Lisa fits in so well at Hellam Varon. She understands the importance of what it means to be family!
