Anne Weltner was drawn to Hellam Varon in 1987 because of the importance the shareholders placed on families, a culture that permeates the firm to this day. During her time at Hellam Varon, Anne has grown from her beginnings as a tax and accounting staff member to the tax department coordinator, a role that is essential to the success of the firm. Anne thrives on multi-tasking and the long hours of tax season each year. “I love the activity during busy season. We get to see a lot of clients and help them through their problems. That’s the best part of the job!” She also values working in an environment with very knowledgeable people who are friendly and willing to help.
Anne’s work ethic extends well beyond working at Hellam Varon. She admits to being a workout junkie. “It’s how I sleep at night,” she says. Anne also shows a surprising proficiency at playing hand bells, performing with her group 4 or 5 times a year, including a spotlight performance at the Redmond Lights Winter Festival every year. Even in front of the TV, Anne stays active knitting gifts for family and friends.
Whether it’s managing the workflow of the tax department or pushing herself in a cardio workout, Anne likes to keep herself busy and challenged. When asked about what she likes in life, she comments, “Friends, doing new and interesting things…and being happy.” Well, Hellam Varon is happy Anne has made us a part of her life!
